What is Comfort Cases?

Comfort Cases is a national program with offices in Rockville, MD that provides children in foster care with backpacks filled with comfort and personal care items. Typically, children are given a trash bag to pack up their belongings when they are removed from their homes. Comfort Cases is working to end this practice while providing the essentials for a child’s first few days in foster care.

How do I volunteer?

Comfort Cases hosts open volunteer hours each week at our Comfort Cases National Center in Rockville, MD. Volunteers help with processing donations, counting inventory, assembling Comfort Cases, and other miscellaneous tasks. Opportunities are listed here.

Comfort Cases hosts about 10 volunteers per shift, and offer two shifts per day, Monday through Friday. You can check out the volunteer calendar for open spots.

Comfort Cases also has an Amazon Wish List for desired items, and suggests hosting donation drives. These can be a great place for young children to volunteer.
